Unashamed Love Post

Ever brilliant Google Doodle
While I am not a fan of Valentines, I am a strong admirer of Google Doodle. The search engine design changes according to a special occasion that's being celebrated on that day. This Valentines, they mixed and matched animals that have no business falling in love with one another. Here is my favorite, Rabbit + Dolphin:

How they met in the first place, I have no idea.

There is so much in this picture.
Talk about expectations. Rabbit cheerfully procures flowers, the epitome of sweet and mushy sentiment. Yet Dolphin is not pleased. Rabbit grudgingly takes out a dead fish, and Dolphin is in love. Does one go for the sweet sentiment or the seemingly-boring-yet-practical-and-desired?

[Practically, my intended shameful love post is finished. Continue if you want to read about how I am over-reading Rabbit and Dolphin's affair.]

This is the "there is so much more in this picture" segment. Assuming Rabbit is the male, even the human counterpart is not a mind-reader. It would be safe to assume he thought of giving something nice for Dolphin. Via a magic trick even! How cool and sweet is that? (But this could just be me.) Rabbit ended up having flowers magically appear from the hat. To Dolphin's disappointment. I have no idea why people give out flowers. They are beautiful though, and have nothing against giving them out. Rabbit tries again, to his dismay, grabs out a dead fish, to Dolphin's pleasure. Isn't this the aim of love that the beloved is pleased? That it is better to have our (guys') own expectations sorely disappointed and sacrificed for the sake of pleasing the beloved (the woman).

But what do I know? This is all coming from someone who might have a nearly-unhealthy lack of knowledge about romance.
